一、教材内容分析

This unit "Do you want to watch a game show?" is from People's Education Publishing House. First, it shows students how to express their likes and dislikes of different TV programs in English. By learning the infinitive as an object structure, students can use this structure to express their preferences for TV programs, and further to express their preferences in English in daily life. In the reading part, through learning the article "Cartoon", students can understand the origin of cartoon animation, understand the appearance and development of "Mickey Mouse", improve their understanding of foreign culture, and enhance their motivation for learning. Through oral dialogue between peers, students can actively participate in class activities, which can effectively cultivate students' understanding ability and language expression ability.

二、学习者特征分析

Compared with Grade 7 students, Grade 8 students are more mature and have access to more words, which requires students to have a large vocabulary. In previous study, once exposed to the verb infinitive, in this unit the infinitive of the grammatical structure of the object can make students easier to understand and master. The teacher should pay attention to demonstrating grammatical structure and usage, construct grammatical situations, and also should pay attention to the transfer and mastery of knowledge, and arouse student’s interest in learning.
