This module is from the textbook of Foreign Language Teaching and Research, Book3,Module 4. The main topic of this module is to introduce sandstorms in Asia.
After learning this module, students will have a basic understanding of sandstorms; students can know the harm of sandstorms and its main harm, prevention measures. Their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills can also be improved. In addition, it can also raise students' awareness of environmental protection significantly.
In the first period,we can review and learn vocabulary related to natural disasters, present the causes and harms of some natural disasters, so that students have a preliminary understanding of sandstorms. Learn some expressions of phrases and sentences and use them in students’ daily life. And then set up a situation to express an experience in a dust storm,uses vocabulary exercises to learn about the things that cause environmental pollution and to propose solutions to them.
In the second period, the teacher ask questions about the pictures of sandstorms. After reading the passage and completing the exercises, make students develop the ability to respond to the vocabulary, understand and analyze the problem.
In the third period, part of GRAMMAR1 is the difference between different expressions of infinitives and will be used correctly. GRAMMAR2 understands the use of but + infinitive.
In the fourth period, through listening activities, the students will understand and learn vocabulary related to the environment and learn to express, and develop the thinking ability and the ability to obtain information in the listening process. And learn some expressions of phrases and sentences and use them in their daily life.
In the fifth period, through CULTURAL CORNER we learn about the environmental measures taken by some European countries.
In the sixth period, the teacher first describes some environmental problems, and then proposes measures to solve them. Then it is combined to form a short article, which lays the foundation for the WRITING task of this module. Then by designing a poster, encourages students to protect the environment.
