Abstract:For nearly half a century, globalization has promoted international cultural exchange and internationalization of the film and television industry. As a result of which the subtitle translation of film and television has become an important research area -in translation industry. Excellent subtitle translation not only strengthens the explanatory power of film dialogues, but also helps target audiences understand thoroughly the connotation of film despite the restriction of space, time and cultural differences.
Taking the Chinese subtitles of the film named The Devil Wears Prada as the research object, this thesis mainly analyzes the translation strategies and skills employed in E-C subtitle translation from the perspective of relevance theory. And the application of relevance theory in the process of translation is also illustrated in the thesis, which could be a useful academic reference for E-C subtitle translation.

中文摘要:近半个世纪以来,全球化发展促进了国际文化交流,带动了影视业的国际化,影视作品字幕翻译因而成为翻译行业重要的研究领域。上乘字幕译品不仅能够强化电影对白的解释力,更有助于目标语观众打破时空和文化差异的制约透彻地理解电影内涵。
本文以电影《穿Prada的女魔头》汉译字幕为研究对象,在关联理论视角下分析电影《穿Prada的女魔头》字幕翻译中使用的翻译策略和翻译技巧,以及关联理论在翻译过程中的应用,希望论文的研究可以为电影字幕汉译提供有益的学术参考。
