Abstract:Academic writing, with some specific characteristics, is different from other writing, such as writing novels or writing travel books. Analysis of these characteristics plays a very important role in helping undergraduate and graduate students, and even doctoral candidates to academically write because there is an urgent need in China for graduate students, especially doctoral students to get their academic papers published in world famous magazines with high scientific citation index (SCI) or high social scientific citation index (SSCI), which are mostly in English. As a result, more and more experts and students will turn to academic writing, whose specific writing characteristics will draw more people’s attention.
