Abstract
With the informatization of social life and globalization of economy, the communication with English is becoming more and more frequent. As one of the most important information carriers, English has become the most widely used language in all fields of human life. However, there are many difficulties in communicating due to weak listening. In view of this situation, scholars and teachers have been exploring English learning methods, and found that watching English films is a good way to improve listening comprehension. The study and research on English films help to know more about English and language learning and using. Based on the results of the previous researches, this paper elaborated the influence of English films on English learners’ listening comprehension, including broadening vocabulary, learning pure pronunciation, strengthening grammar, and increasing social and cultural background knowledge.
