Abstract: This paper aims at discussing the reasons about different thinking modes between Chinese and Western people by analyzing the origins and celebrations of the major traditional festivals. In contrast with the concrete manifestation and reasons, I came up with the conclusion that differences in Chinese and Western thinking modes have gradually influenced the culture of traditional festivals and played an increasingly important role in cultural integration. And during the gradual development of themselves, they should learn to grasp the nature of thinking modes and push ahead with cross-cultural communication on the basis of protecting local heritage.
