ABSTRACT
English plays a very important role in various international fields as the information era is coming. Many countries endeavor to strengthen and reform English teaching in different levels. With the application of the New English Curriculum Standard, the methods and modes of English effective in-class arrangements have undergone many changes. Meantime, some problems of Effective In-class activities become worthy of study. There are still a lot of teaching ideas which are not fit for the new situation in present high schools’ class teaching. Many English teachers still focus on grammar and vocabulary excessively, ignoring the development of students’ actual language ability. Although lots of teachers know the importance of cultivating students' comprehensive ability, they can not achieve these goals by their original teaching practice. As a foreign language in China, English is mainly taught and learned in classrooms. Therefore, the effectiveness of in-class teaching is of critical importance. Based on the analysis of the status quo of in-class arrangements, the author puts forward some suggestions on how to improve the effect of in-class arrangements.
