This thesis consists of five parts, part 1 is a brief introduction of the author Oscar Wilde and his novel The Picture of Dorian Gray and the concept of projection; part 2 is an overview and summary of previous related researches; part 3 is a detailed analysis of Henry’s projection on Dorian Gray; part 4 is a specific interpretation of the author Wilde’s projection on Henry; finally, according to the application of projection theory in this novel, a conclusion can be drawn on how to appropriately treat the projection in our daily life.
