Abstract:With the trend of economic globalization, English is becoming an important tool for China's opening to the outside world and communication of economic and cultural. At the same time, reading is closely related to the language ability of students.Reading is also the highest part in score of English exam. And reading is an important part of language teaching. Reading ability is one of the important standards of English level. Senior High School English Syllabus also make a clear regulation:“ Focus on developing the students’ ability of language. And make a good basic to learn and use English.” To have a good English class, cultivate the students reading ability is the key . So how to improve the English reading teaching method has become the focus of people’s attention. It is proved by practice that make an exploration of senior high school English reading teaching method is widely used to senior high school students’ rule of physical and mental development. This thesis first introduces the importance of English reading for students and social development. And then it tells the current situation of English reading in senior high school including the students and teachers’ teaching methods. On the basis of the above, it analyses the reasons of this situation. At last the the teaching method of English reading in senior high school brings the thesis to its main concern. It puts forward more scientific and effective teaching methods of English reading. All in all, the purpose of this thesis is to explore the teaching methods of English reading in senior high school which is necessary, feasible and useful.
