Abstract: With the development of science technology, man’s exploitation of natural resources has been increasingly growing since 1960s. Consequently, human beings face harsh environmental disasters, such as global warming, water pollution, air pollution, loss of species diversities and so on. Following the eco-criticism theory of LU Shuyuan, this paper analyzes Tar Baby written by Toni Morrison from the three aspects of ecology: natural, spiritual and social ecology in order to further explore the relationship between man and man, man and nature, man and society and man and himself, and provides a deeper insight of the ecological problems modern people are facing.
