一、教材内容分析

This unit is mainly about how to ask and answer the prices of clothing while going shopping. Through this topic, students are trained to improve the four basic abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing. At the same times, students can learn to talk about the color, size and price of clothes in English and use the language to sell or buy some things in the mall. Because the material is close to life and comes from life, students will be more interested in this lesson. Through the activities of asking about prices and talking about clothing, students can correctly use sentence patterns about shopping in their daily life. The teaching content is practical and helpful for students to learn to manage their money and spend money rationally.

 

二、学习者特征分析

The students are around 12 or 13 years old. They’re young and lively. They like active classroom activities and they are particularly interested in English songs. The first year of junior high school is the basic stage for students to learn English. The important task of this stage is to stimulate students' interest in learning English. Students at this stage may lack confidence in learning English, so teachers should encourage students to speak English frequently and then provide opportunities for poor students as far as possible so as they can feel the joy of success. Besides, students from Grade 7 have finished primary school and entered junior high school, so they have the ability to learn something difficult. Therefore, in the process of implementing teaching, teachers should organize more activities so as to make students interested in English and help them apply their English knowledge to their daily life.
